2007 Miss Georgia

It’s strange that I would be writing about this but, it’s time for Miss Georgia 2007!

For some reason, every year, someone sends me a link to this site and I scroll down and look at all the contestants. Now, they’re all very beautiful ladies but, two things strike me as funny. The sultry looks some have and the way the first names match the faces. It’s sort of a, “Yeah, she’s definitely a Brandy or a Mary or a Brittany.

Anyway, good luck to all. 2007 Miss Georgia USA Contestants | Main site is here

I’m sorry- but those were some unattractive women. There were only 2 in the whole round up that I would consider to be pretty. I know we have moved away from the “beauty” pageant format- but this is insanity.

Why bother with the “I’m sorry”? You clearly aren’t sorry. Good to know your personal tastes of “beauty” are what everyone else has “moved away from”. Insanity is your being allowed to breed. Good luck with finding a “beauty” who fits your measurement.. err.. “beauty” reqs.

Oh come on! You are telling me that Miss Banks County USA, Miss Metro-Atlanta USA and Miss Brunswick USA are considered attractive? While I won’t go as far as saying there are only 2 women on that site who are attractive, there are definitely 3 who are NOT attractive. The rest of the “contestants” fall into varying categories of “attractiveness”.

Oh my dear friends… now, now. Beauty is many things. These are impressionable young ladies. One must not be so negative.

I got to side with steve on this one. my daughter was in a beauty contest last year and it made her really happy just to get to the semi-finals. i didn’t have a few hundred to throw out on makeup and professional photography but, she, of course, looked beautiful anyway, certainly to me. I see what steve was saying about the names matching the faces. that is funny. I just can’t see myself actually calling any of them unattractive. it’s much to much of a shallow world already to do that.

Okay, I can’t disagree with Steve’s comment about the names matching the faces. Still, I must comment on how truly down to earth and totally unpretentious two of the girls are.

Last year’s winner and one runner up (Brittany Swann) did some spokesmodeling work for my company last week. They were NOT stuck-up, not trixie-ish (Chicago name for the snooty D & G purse toting set, etc…), and emdodied everything I’ve heard of Southern hospitality.

Perhaps I am just jaded living in Chicago – where women with half their looks, and twice their wastelines have ten times the attitude…

Ergo, lay off your gorgeous pageant contestants Atlanta!
