Tanks Fer Nuttin
There’s nothing I love more after working until 2am and collapsing into bed for a 12 hour slumber with windows open wide to let in the cool, fall air than being awoken at 8am to the sound of a building being imploded.
So long, 615 Peachtree, and thanks for the unwelcome alarm. I thought we were being bombed, for crissakes. You could warn a guy. Er, girl.
More via this Dec 16 article from the ABC.
There was an article on ajc.com either Thrusday or Friday about the implosion.
Is that what that was, scared the crap out of me this morning! I’ll have to go check it out since I am right around the corner.
It woke me up as well. My mind went to terrorist attack, particularly when I heard the helicopters, but after no sirens, I felt safe enough to go back to sleep. It took me a good hour or so before I put two and two together.
Kevin – AJC.com = bleh! I don’t visit in websites where I’m forced to register to get the news. Bad savvy.
Jim – I had similar thoughts when I woke up. First was “that wasn’t thunder or a truck” then I waited…and closed my eyes. I opened them again an hour later when I heard 11alive telling me what it was.
AJwho?

BAM!
That link is dead but here’s a cornucopia of videos of the Wachovia Building implosion on YouTube.com
No wonder it woke me up.
It jolted our Kirkwood house so bad our alarm went off (door contact magnets separated). Luckily we were out of town, so avoided the panic of a terrorist attack.
If your post’s title is referring to Maggie from Caddyshack talking to Danny Noonan, thanks. If not, that’s how I took it, and oh well.
Jim – Link worked fine for me, it’s just lead into by a commercial and has no sound.
Paul – You called it.
