Harry’s no longer Whole Foods

I was shocked — really shocked — to find out that Harry’s Whole Foods in Duluth (aka Harry’s Farmer’s Market years ago) has closed shop. I went there last week to pick up some stuff and the parking lot was empty. Now on the border of Duluth and Alpharetta (by the Chattahoochee River), I witnessed a Whole Foods get built from the ground up. It took less than 6 months. It had its grand opening last week (Sep 21st). Though I’m sad that Harry’s Whole Foods is now closed, it’s been replaced by this new Whole Foods closer to where I live. Check it out:

    I miss the Harry’s in a Hurry!

Also, come a little further west… Trader Joe’s on Crossville (Holcomb Bridge) near Roswell High School. Next to the PetSmart. This TJ’s is now hiring.

And one to open in midtown but not sure where…

    Yipee!

No doubt I respect Harrys, Whole Foods & TJ’s, but man, even if you live in Alabama, Dekalb Farmer’s Market is worth the drive. Bring one of those thermal bags & you’re set.

Plus the price is excellent. My husband and I can eat about 7 days’ worth of healthy fresh meals for about $40.

To me, I’m surprised “proximity to DFM” isnt on real estate ads in the area; it would make me buy a house more than decatur schools or something.

    dovetail — yipee: Trader Joe’s!!!

maggie — yes, DFM is THE best! and the original. harry was the brother who ventured out and now is out of business. if you drive 500 feet further of DFM, there’s the First Oriental mart which is the supplier to about 85% of all Asian stores in Atlanta.
