The COOL Alanta

So, I bought this place in midtown, right? You know the place I spent money on that I never stay in because I’m always on assignment out of town?. (it’s one of those stupid things I did)

So, I’m back from being on the road for weeks and today I decided to hang out there and see what’s going on in Midtown and beyond. Most of you will say, “you lame ass” but, others might say, “oh really now”.

So what’s the real Atlanta? The People. You’ll never know who you will meet in the ATL.

While shopping for a table today, I met a nice young lady who had an interesting accent. “Are you from Eastern Europe?”, I asked. “Yes, from Bosnia.”, she said. Very cool! We talked for a few minutes and she told me that the “Infected Mushrooms” were playing at Fever! Damn! That’s a band – for those who don’t know. Website here.

Driving on 14th Street today I saw that – and this is for you photographers out there – that the old Meteor Photo – turned Photobition – has turned back to Meteor. What’s up with that and what do they do there now? Once I called and they said, “oh, we don’t do film now, we’re digital”. So, I erased them from my address book. They were so amazing in the good old days of the 80’s and 90’s.

AND Damn folks, that’s a big old Mosque their building on 14th Street! It’s the first time I’ve seen it. We are so Uptown now. Just a few notes on my return to the Big Peach this week. More later.

LOL… You’re not the only one paying for a place you’re not living in.

I got relocated here in ’02, bought a place in Reynoldstown (thought I’d be here for 5 years or so), got shipped out in ’03 and have live a variety of places since then.

Back since March, and now it looks like I’ll be traveling again.

Anybody wanna rent a big loft in a month or so? :P
