we were all seeing red at the brewhouse on sunday

it’s back! for those of you who are uninitiated, atlanta has absolutely one of the best places in the country to watch professional football (yes, the real kind, not the one played at the georgia dome, but the one played at places like old trafford and allianz stadium.)

they always do it up right at the brewhouse cafe in little five points for english matches and sunday was no exception for the start of the english professional season. the place was actually quite packed to watch liverpool defeat chelsea for the fa community shield title. i love it; knowledgeable, excited fans, a great wait-staff and the best chicken and bacon breakfast burrito under the sun.

several great matches scheduled for next weekend including a potentially resurgent newcastle playing last seasons surprise club, wigan as well as chelsea and man city on sunday. unfortunately i don’t see manchester united’s opener but maybe that will be remedied shortly; i’ll keep checking the match schedule.

you really should come check out a match or two.

the only downside to the whole thing was the appearance of those guys over on the right. i can’t think of a sillier organization in atlanta to be part of. here’s hoping for a long season for them.

go red devils

Doesn’t Fox Soccer Channel still show SPL matches during weeknights? It may be tape delay though.
