kinda like a u2 video…

okay so with less people, no cops and it wasn’t on top of a building. but still its not often you get to go to a free concert in a parking lot with one of atlanta’s native son musicians. the free butch walker show this afternoon in the parking lot of criminal records was awesome. great turnout for short notice and butch played a five song set that definitely had the audience going despite the heat.

was cool local flavor too. at one point butch made a joke about how he used to try to get a job at criminal records but they wouldn’t hire him .

anybody else make it out to this little free show? thoughts?

if you couldn’t get there definitely try to check out butch walker and the let’s go out tonite’s next tuesday and thursday at the variety playhouse. also the new cd is out today so check it out. and in the spirit of the whole thing you really should go buy it at criminal.

I’m not much of a Butch Walker fan. I showed up at Criminal to find hundreds of kids mobbing the parking lot. I took care of business at Criminal and hid at a neighboring bookstore. At the bookstore, I heard something VERY ironic. A kid walked into the store who knew the person behind the counter, and started blabbing about Butch Walker. The person behind the counter was all, “I don’t know who that is.” Without batting an eyelash, the kid said, “That’s because you’re old”.

It’s a good thing the kiddies are keeping up with the mid-90’s.
