wireless atlanta?

being reported in broadbandreports.com today, the city of atlanta is soliciting bids for a municipal wireless network to cover the entire city. before you get all excited about firing comcast and getting some free internet for your tax dollars, the network will be subscription-based according to the rfp found on the city’s page about the service.

wonder how bellsouth, er sbc, er ‘the new’ at&t will react to this one?

James, I love your entries, but you’ve got to start using capitalization.

That’s ridiculous when Earthlink’s already on that train and based out of Atlanta. Shouldn’t they hook us up and use us as an example? I seriously contribute this to Shirley Franklin. The only mayor in Atlanta for the past lordknowshowmanyyears that cares about Atlanta progressing. It’s about damn time! I’ve been anxiously awaiting to hear Atlanta’s jumping on board with this.
