Georgia may get new Kia plant

See this? You can get this for $11,000ish.

AND it might be made in Georgia soon.

“The auto industry’s Southern expansion could soon pick up another key plant as South Korea-based Kia Motors Corp. appears close to naming a Georgia site for a new assembly plant.”

Story from the Detroit Free Press

If the decision is made for Georgia, the plant reportedly could be up and running in three years. In 2002, Georgia apparently passed a “mega-project” tax incentive to get DaimlerChrysler to come to Georgia but, they backed out.

“…A site near LaGrange, Ga., would make a likely place for the Kia plant. LaGrange is about 90 miles up I-85 from the Hyundai plant in Alabama. It’s also a short drive from Atlanta.”
