Go Plant A Tree
Today is Georgia’s Arbor Day. While the official and national holiday is not celebrated until the last Friday of April, each state has their own designated observance date to coordinate with their region’s tree planting season.
How do you celebrate Arbor Day? Plant a tree, of course. Through their Arbor Day Partners, Trees Atlanta has over 650 seedlings (live oaks, perhaps?) just waiting for you to give them a new home. To get one, all you have to do is ask.
And if you really want to get into the spirit of the holiday, Trees Atlanta and The National Arbor Day Foundation have events scheduled throughout today and tomorrow. This morning, they’ll be planting trees in Grant Park. Tomorrow morning, they’ll be pruning trees. And what happens tomorrow afternoon? Climbing trees!
