The New South, 2005 A.D.
This house is one of my favorite things in the sky-rise stretch of Midtown. It sits across the street from the High — it used to be the High — where I think its looks like the best of the museum’s many lawn sculptures. You can keep your crazy, ugly metal mobile. I’ll take the ghosts of the old High, hedged in by retro-futuristic glass towers.
That building has always been one of my favorites. When I was a kid and we would go to the symphony on a field trip I would stare at that old house forever. It would be wild to actually live there. No “real” neighbors to bother you and the sun would rarely hit the house either.
