She’s Got a Ticket to Ri-i-ide…

You know you’ve been dying to play hookie from work, you just haven’t figured out a way you won’t feel entirely guilty about it yet. Or maybe you have. Either way, here’s a chance to help raise awareness for cycling in Georgia. An event is being planned that will take you straight down Roswell Road to P’Tree St to Capital of Atlanta on your bicycle, with a police escort to and from…no joke.

Sources claim there will be major press coverage, so here’s your chance for the 15 minutes you’ve been craving – get in the news and wear your Tuesday’s best.

What: Georgia Ride to the Capital (and back)
When: Tuesday March 7
Time: 10AM start from Roswell City Hall
Featuring: LUNCH! – All you have to do is register .

What:
Ride from Roswell to Georgias Capitol with Roswells Mayor Jere Wood and Atlantas Mayor Shirley Franklin. Once we arrive at the Capitol, enjoy a FREE lunch on us, with Governor Sonny Perdue and your State Legislatures.

Where:
Enjoy an easy paced, relaxing bike ride, which will start at Roswells City Hall. Ride down Roswell Road and Peachtree Street with a motorcycle escort to Georgias Capitol. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, join along the route.

When:
Date: Tuesday March 7, 2006
Ride Start Time: 10:00 AM
Estimate arrival time at the Capitol: 11:30 AM noon
Registration: 9:00 10:00 AM

Cost: FREE

During Lunch at the capital, there will be (unnamed) feature speakers. You can ride back to Roswell with the group, or take Marta. Join the ride anywhere along the route, organizers just want a huge peloton. Rain or shine, they need your support regardless of weather, and regardless of how you get there.

Bottom line? I was to get sick I would plan it on March 7th.

    Roswell Rd from the Chattahoochie to 285 has some KILLER hills, serious leg killers… just a heads up
