One Foot on the Brake …

55limit.pngAnd one on the gas (Hey!).

As if GA 400 wasn’t enough an abomination against automotive mobility, new construction between Holcomb Bridge and the far reaches of McFarland Road has inspired the powers-that-be to drop the speed limit to 55mph. But don’t fret, citizens, as this reduction will be only in effect for as long as construction requires. Two years, tops. And besides, this is for your own good:

“An interesting statistic is that three out of four work-zone fatalities are motorists, not workers, so it’s for your own safety that we’re doing this, as well as the safety of our workers,” Mark McKinnon (DOT Spokesperson) said.

Somewhere, Sammy Hagar shares our pain.
