The Streak Continues

So the worst streak in all of professional sports – no back-to-back winning seasons in franchise history for the Falcons – continues on. The game isn’t technically over yet, but Vick and company can’t score 33 points in 1:18.

So the Falcons finish 8-8, third in the NFC South and, I believe, 9th in the NFC as a whole. After a 6-2 start, words can’t describe what a terrible dissapointment this is. The close loss to the Pats (at home), the close loss to the Bucs (at home), the embarrassing loss the lowly Packers (again, at home). This is just a horrific turn of events for what was suppossed to be a playoff team, an NFC contender and a (potential) Superbowl competitor.

What do you think? Is the bandwagon over before it really began? Should Vick have run more this year (I think obviously, YES)? Are you still a loyal Falcons fan? Will you be filling the Dome next year?

Right now, I’m wallowing in the mediocrity of it all. 8-8 and no back-to-back winning seasons in franchise history. 2-6 after a 6-2 start. Guh!

Go Hawks (and take the Falcons with you)!

While I had suspicion that the Falcons might have an 8-8 season this year, I certainly didn’t think that it would happen after a 6-2 start.
