Off-season Braves moves

After game 4 of the division series, I say the Yanks can have Farnsworth.

The Yankees and Farnsworth have been talking about a two- or three-year deal averaging $4.5 million to $6 million, a high-ranking baseball official said Tuesday, speaking on condition of anonymity because the negotiations were ongoing.

Screw the Pitching rotation (except for Smoltz, Hudson, Sosa and maybe Thompson, Davies and a fit Hampton) they can all be dropped for all I care… I just want Furcal resigned and quickly

I’m, actually, pretty hopeful about that. Especially after Chipper restructured his contract.

I would like to see Farnsworth return for a full season next year, as I regard closers as destined to give up big hits in postseason. I think he’ll actually end up with the Yankees, as a setup guy/backup closer. If he can claim $5-6M of the Yankees’ payroll doing that, then go for it. At least he wouldn’t be pitching for the Mets.
