The other day Tony Simon mentioned that Atlanta has not been getting much sporting love from the boys in Bristol. Today, Atlanta has been officially named as the host for this year’s Nokia Sugar Bowl.

In case you’ve been under a rock for the last six weeks, New Orleans and its Super Dome (usual host for the Sugar Bowl) were severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina and they will be unable to host. So trade in that begnet and chickory coffee for a Krispy Kreme and cup of normal Joe and get ready for a Peach Bowl – Falcon’s regular season finale – Sugar Bowl trifecta here in the ATL.
