Don’t go near the Georgia World Congress Center this weekend

I’m telling you, it’s good advice. Unless you want to get overrun by a few billion Girl Scouts(*). The 2005 National Convention is this weekend. If you aren’t scared, perhaps you should be.

The exhibit hall, where you can meet Dominique Dawes and Dove model/actress America Ferrara, is open to everyone – from the FAQ:

The exhibit hall is open to anyone interested in attending, and passes are available at the door. Passes for children 17 and under are $5 each; passes for adults 18 and over are $10 each. The hours of the exhibit hall are:

  • Friday, Oct. 7 ñ noonñ7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 8 ñ 10 a.m.ñ6 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m.ñ6 p.m

Oh, and adding to the traffic chaos on Sunday will be a Falcons game. Enjoy!

(*)Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit.

OOOh, maybe I can pick up a box of Thin Mints while tailgating on Sunday.

Add in the “pat down” by dome security and it could take many hours just to get inside to the game. Good thing I’m not going. Oh wait, I’ve got tickets. D’oh!
