I like to pretend I’m Robert Siegel or Steve Inskeep when I talk about sports:
The Falcons of Atlanta knocked off the NFC Champion Eagles of Philadelphia last night in a well-played match of American rules football at the Georgia Dome here in Atlanta. The Falcons scored 14 points while the Eagles only managed to score 10 points. The Falcons’ success can largely be attributed to the large amounts of yardage gained by their running back, Warrick Dunn, as well as a stand-up performance by their defense. In addition, the Eagles are stupid and everyone hates them.
I’m not going to waste time recapping the game here because, if you’re a fan, you watched it. If you’re not, you didn’t. I would, however, like to plug the Taco Mac in Decatur as a fantastic locale for watching such sporting events. It’s nothing special as far as Taco Mac’s go, but they do have three giant screens projecting the game in HD, an above average beer selection, plenty of room to hang out and be a ridiculous, screeching football fan, and, surprisingly, it wasn’t too crowded. Perhaps that has something to do with downtown Decatur not being a hotbed of sports fanaticism. Whatever the reason, it was pretty much perfect.
I agree with your observations on that Taco Mac. I don’t like their drink prices though. Last time I was there they were charging $10 for a Chimay, ouch.
