Stone Mountain

Yesterday I was working in Lithonia and drove near Stone Mountain and realized that in my 4 years living in Atlanta Iíve never been there before. Am I the only one? Is Stone Mountain entertaining for a young woman like myself, and is it one of those places you ëmustí visit if you live in Atlanta?

My interest is sparked because a girlfriend of mine invited me to the last laser show of the summer this past weekend. Hhmm it sounded a little yee-haw to my refined tastes. I didnít go, but am still a little curious of what exactly one does at Stone Mountain. Any opinions?

run to the top and look around. it’s a nice view. good exercise. ride a bike there. and maybe learn to get along with yee-haw types.

Golf, tennis, boating, swimming, hiking, and camping are a few of the things you can do. There’s a beach and several new exhibits. The laser show is good — especially the first time you see it. I been to concerts there. I even attended a wedding on the riverboat that travels around the mountain. That was pretty cool.

I am a yee-haw type, but it has something for even the most “refined” folks.

NOTE: I almost said “pretentious and condescending” instead of “refined” because of the yee-haw reference, but I decided that I would take the high road.

    ;o)

I wouldn’t bother. We don’t care for refined folks much over here.

I’m with Jehad (never imagined saying that, regardless of context), it’s a nice short walk or run to the top of the “hill” especially on a clear day early in the morning.

The Antique Car Museum is definitely worth checking out, lots of REALLY cool cars and working jukeboxes, toys plus other weird gee-gaws.
