Update: Oozing

I ended up caving in and going to the doctor yesterday with the hopes she could relieve me of the eggs laid under my skin by some malicious plant or another. Rather predictably, she prescribed me a 12-day supply of generic prednisone. She also gave me an astringent soak for the “weeping,” but the instructions say to soak the area for 30 minutes in a mixture of powder and 8oz of water. If anyone knows how I can soak my forearm in one cup of water, I’d love to hear it.

As of this morning, everything looks much better. Despite the fact that it would be woefully irresponsible, I’m halfway considering hanging onto the leftover drugs in the interest of relieving a future reaction.

If you have an old plastic raincoat that you no longer use you can cut the arm off and use waterproof medical tape to tape the end to your elbow, then pour the liquid in and tape the other end closed, then rest your arm on a table. It sounds crazy but it was the only thing that worked when I had to do it.
