Quilt enough for everyone….
The AIDS memorial Quilt is coming to downtown Atlanta the first week of October. Well, not the whole Quilt… It is currently over 45,000 panels. Each panel 3 feet by 6 feet, so It would be kinda hard to show the whole thing. So, currently seven downtown galleries will be displaying parts of the Quilt. This quilt project was started 20 years ago… It is truly an inspiring work of hope and compassion.
“The NAMES Project Foundation, the international curator of The AIDS Memorial Quilt, works to use The Quilt to inspire action, heighten awareness and foster healing in the age of AIDS. With baby pictures, letters, teddy bears and Boy Scout badges, The AIDS Memorial Quilt inspires hope and calls on us all to respond to the AIDS pandemic with compassion and resolve.”
