Miss Cobb County

I have to plug my department here at Tech, so I am proud to announce that Miss Cobb County 2006 is a sophomore in Materials Science and Engineering (the department in which I am a graduate student) here at Georgia Tech:

Lauren Halford, a 19-year-old MSE sophomore honors student at the Georgia Institute of Technology, is the new Miss Cobb County 2006. The daughter of David and Vicki Halford of Marietta, Lauren will be promoting her community service platform of ìEncouraging Americaís Women in Science and Technology.î

I’m guessing that now she goes on to the Miss Georgia competition? The article doesn’t say, but I will take every opportunity I can to interview her once the school year starts back up next week. Seriously, I’m willing to make that sacrifice for you, dear readers.

    That’s no woman – it’s something created in a bio-lab at Tech, isn’t it?

Do you still have to be a virgin to participate?

To participate in Miss Georgia, or to go to Tech?
