Co Ops in Atlanta
The term co-op may be one you relate to a big city dwelling, to New York and life up against your neighbor. It may bring to mind a mental picture of fancy digs, of stifling bureaucracy and drama regarding your choice of doormat.
In Atlanta it means great produce and more at Sevananda, random bits you didn’t know you needed via Unseen, your local credit union, and even outdoor gear at REI.
It also means Sopo Bikes.
“The Sopo Bicycle Co-op is a newly incorporated nonprofit, volunteer-operated community bicycle resource center. Our workshop provides a central forum for sharing equipment, materials, and expertise, and facilitates affordable, practical, hands-on support for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.”
Check ’em out – donĂt just *be* the little guy, support and partner with your fellow little guys…it’s how we evolve into a community.
Wow! The second day I check out this site, and there is a post about my baby (well, its not just my baby, there are many folks working hard to make this happen).
I just wanted to take this chance to plug a ride that we are (re)doing this Saturday (the 27th). Check our site (http://www.sopobikes.org) for more information on “Sopo Does Atlanta”
Crap! By the 27th, I meant the 20th!
hey, that’s my baby, too! the date of the rally is this saturday, the 20th, not the 27th.
That is a cool logo… :-)
