Clark Howard sighting

I’m not one to go looking for local Atlanta celebrities. If I were, I’d be staked out in front of Terrell Owens house this week, pretending to deliver flowers, but I digress.

As my wife and I were commuting home last night, a dirtly, black Scion xB pulled up along side us. In the driver’s seat was a spectacled man, with dark hair wearing a toothy grin and chatted animatedly with the passenger. I remarked to my wife that he resembled Clark Howard.

As we pulled forward, I noticed his blue AM 750 polo shirt and got a good look at his perky mug. It was none other than Clark Howard himself.

The rest of the story is fairly pointless, as I tried to flag him down and say something flattering and yet somehow condescending. Either I couldn’t think of the correct ratio of those two sentiments or I didn’t catch his eye.

I love Clark Howard, but I too would be flummoxed if I ever had a chance to meet him.

“Clark, thanks for being such a cheap bastard. You rock!”

I love Clark now, but when I had a “Clark Encounter”, I had only the slightest notion that he looked familiar. He was striding down the aisle at Home Depot with a broad smile on his face and his hands behind his back. He caught my eye, and I guess noted my look of (vague) recollection and shot me a huge smile as he passed.

Always nice to encounter yet another person who shares my exact name. No joke. Good job seeing somebody you like.
