School Time

A lot of schools have already started…and the rest will shortly follow. A new school year…. new friends…. and a little break for the parents. Better for the kids to be bouncing of the walls at a school, than bouncing of the walls at home. Who knows, they might even learn something.

We have a bunch of nephews and nieces, … and work with a lot of youth at our church. So, from time to time, kids will ask us for help with some school material. There is nothing more alarming than some middle school kid asking for help on his calculus homework! I can now look back and honestly say that the quadratic equation has never help me out of any situation … ever. But that does not help the kids, does it? Here are some resources for the kids (or us…) to help out with those homework questions.

Discovery Channel’s homework help site.

Ask Jeeves for Kids.

RefdeskHomework Center for the Multnomah County Library in Oregon.

KidSource Online’s collection of research sites.

A tear came to my eye yesterday. My two older kids started their first day of school (pre-k). And with that came the very first homework assignment for my son. I had to help him write the letter “A” and “a” … not just once. Three Times!!! :-) I have a feeling the questions will eventually get harder.

    Oh my!

    They are precious!

Hang in there – this is just the beginning. Wait until you get the 1st school pictures. There is something that tugs at the heart strings when you see your little people posing next to a fake tree with a blue background.

Sigh, my little guy starts Kindergarten Monday … the school bus … the real homework … *sniffle*
