the man behind the man behind the needlepoint

Some of y’all may have, in recent days, seen a link to “Rosey Grier’s Needlepoint for Men,” a loving scan of the 1973 craft book by the 3-time Pro Bowler. (I saw it on the Make blog and Pop Culture Junk Mail, but at this point if you Google “Rosey Grier,” the needlepoint pictures are the third link.)

Well, it turns out the guy responsible for putting Rosey Grier on Flickr is not Mr. Grier himself, but Garth Johnson, a local artist who, in addition to putting some very interesting plates together, has a craft-devoted blog and some other neat Flickr sets.
