Hot Streak

The Braves have been on a bit of a hot streak recently and it continued unabaited today as they pushed aside the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-4 in a very close game to move 5 games clear of Washington in the NL East.

Thankfully it wasn’t as hot and humid as last Thursday’s game, and we had nice seats in the shade which was also a great help. And it’s also great to see the team rally when the game was tied at 3-3 thanks to Rafael Furcal homering in two consecutive at bats and some outstanding defensive plays by Chipper Jones.

Usually the NL East is pretty much taken for granted at Turner Field, but this year they have fought every inch of the way to get this far and hopefully they can go further in the playoffs than last years disappointing Division Series against Houston. Another great thing is in the last few weeks the city has really been getting behind them with some pretty impressive attendances despite the heat, especially during the current winning streak, say what you want about fairweather fans, it takes commitment to sit in the ballpark when you can fry an egg on the seat next to you…
