Parched at the Park
Last evening I went jogging in Piedmont Park; it was nice to see how green the grass has grown in the large field but the weather was of course quite warm. I parked my car on Park Ave. and started my run across the bridge then down into the park. By the time I reached the area where they have a childrenís jungle gym I was parched. Thankfully I spotted a water fountain in the childrenís area.
I pressed the button and nothing came out- darn it was hot. The fountain did not work. However, I pressed on and looped the childrenís area two times then I moved to the south end of the park near 10th street. Another water fountain appeared; admittedly I first thought it was a mirage. Again I ran up to the water fountain near 10th street and this one did not work either.
Am I the only one unable to find a water fountain that works at Piedmont Park? You basically have to bring your own water bottle when you exercise in the park nowadays. Itís so hot right now; you would think the water fountains would work at Piedmont Park.
Hot Indeed!!! My hats off to you for getting out there in this heat. I struggled walking to my mailbox in this heat… let alone jogging! :-)
Don’t just tell us, tell the park.

An interesting blog experiment — let’s see if they listen to you and fix it.
The water is obviously being diverted to the child-labor constucted super secret exotic underwater stripclub downtown.
this was very riveting
I run Piedmont regularly and the fountains always work for me… maybe because I hold the button for a few seconds and give the water a chance to pump up from whence it springs from… someplace I don’t like to think about really. A word of running wisdom in any case, you should be drinking water all day long – don’t wait til you get to the park.
