Open Memo To Delta

Since we are the home base of Delta I feel somewhat justified throwing this into our MetroBlog.

What I learned the following on my recent trip to Las Vegas

  • Airline seats should not recline – Look, I like “comfort” as much as the next person but to have some stranger’s head nearly in my lap for three and half hours bothers me. In fact it bothers me to the point where I will knee their seat, or fiddle constantly with my tray just to get the point across to my front-neighbor.
  • Delta needs a dietician – Okay, I understand meals were expensive and to cut costs they went to snacks. Fine. But in my snack pack there was a box of raisins, some cheese-like substance and crackers, and an Oreo(tm) cookie. Who put this package together, Mrs. Robinson’s first grade class? Why not just cut the “food service” altogether, you’ve already elimated pillows.
  • I would feel more comfortable flying if your employees could tell time – On my 8:11pm EDT flight (which departed closer to 10:45pm EDT due to inclement weather) I was greeted with both “Good Afternoon” and “Good Morning”, not to mention that the “local time” was given out incorrectly (off by a time zone), and then corrected by another person when we landed in Las Vegas

Am I being too difficult?

This year has been very difficult traveling with Delta in my experience- many delayed flights.

I have had problems with the last few flight trips…on various Airline companies. I think the whole industry is suffering.
