Mystery Solved…
Ok, maybe it wasn’t a Cone of Silence level mystery.
I was slightly curious about what the Old Trust Company Bank building,
most recently known as “DTP Bank” in the video where Rudy from the Cosby show pranced around in a bra and panties.
But I digress.
Turns out, there is a restaurant there now. (Not now, but in a couple of days).
Called Piebar …It looks like this. Only Bigger.
And they’ll serve Pizza PIE.
Wonder what they’ll do with the drive thru windows – reckon you can order a slice and get it in one of those pneumatic tube thingies?
Last month’s Atlanta Intown newspaper reported that it was to become a pizza restaurant which is to be owned by the owner of “ONE: Midtown Kitchen” and “TWO: Urban Licks”. Should this one to be named “THREE: P-I-E”?
Oh … I would kill for some killer Pie!! All we really have around us are chains… anyone know any good Ma/Pa Pizza places?
Instead of “THREE: P-I-E” perhaps they could name it “THREE-POINT-ONE-FOUR-ONE-FIVE-NINE-TWO-SIX…etc: pi”
Briam, if you’re ever in Grant Park, Grant Central Pizza does a nice classic pizzeria pie.
Cool. I will have to give it a try (Grant Central Pizza)…
Piebar is awesome, I got to go to the soft opening last week (my boyfriend works at ONE). Very jetsons-like, interesting food too. AND good prices.
I drove by that thing a few times this weekend, and kept wondering, “What the hell is pie bar?” Now I know! I think it’s actually a pretty neat re-use of space.
The sign says “Opening in July 2005.” They don’t have much time to meet that deadline.
opening is tonight actually (july 27).
Glad they’re doing something with it… it’s an interesting piece of architecture.
I don’t understand “DTP Bank” – but maybe that’s just because of my ridiculous whiteness.
