General Motors kills puppies, and says your mother is ugly.
My connections at Citizens for Progressive Transit (which is not quite as exciting as having connections with the mysterious aquarium people, or the mysterious . . . er . . . naked people) want you to swing by Park Tavern tomorrow night, to drink, have a good time, and watch Taken for a Ride, the documentary that explains how General Motors bought up all the trolleys in the nation and replaced them with less efficient, more polluting buses.
To be fair, I saw the movie during a CPF fundraiser in March and have some arguments with some of the points it makes along the way (the part about NY transit in the 1930s sticks in my head) but this is not one of those look-at-both-sides documentary. The point is to get you all steamed about what has been done to public transit in this country. (And to have a good time, of course.) Bad General Motors! Go Priuses! Go Priuses Go!
Yay Priuses!
Signed,
Still hoping to afford one. Soon.
