I heard this tidbit from a co-worker and confirmed it via the AJC

Traffic along I-285 will stop this afternoon while the state Department of Transportation blasts underground granite to construct a bridge, Perimeter Center Parkway Overpass, which will span the highway.

The blasting on the north side of I-285 near Perimeter Center Parkway is expected to begin about 3 p.m. and last about 15 minutes, said David Spear, a spokesman for the DOT.

The blasting will close all westbound and eastbound lanes of I-285. Traffic will be escorted through the work zone before and after the blasting, Spear said.

Looks like I picked a great day to try taking Marta to the new office.

I’m at 1155 Perimeter Center Parkway, were practically neighbors! I am in the building that Arby’s corporate is going to be moving into. :-)
