AJC imitates Metblog

Flat on the heels of out own couple of metblog posts about podcasts, Rodney Ho of the AJC gets a front page article about the medium. Of course, we featured (if you count our great “comments” section) 11 different locally based podcasts. The AJC featured only three locally based ones (My ‘Lanta, Skepticality, and Rosary Army – hope I got them all).

Disclaimer: My ‘lanta is hosted in part by fellow metblog author Andisheh Nouraee

List of Atlanta-based podcasts:

Hmm… maybe I should set up a wiki page for this…

I realize the comment was at least partially tongue-in-cheek, but the AJC’s Podcasting story was neither an imitation nor a response to anything on atlanta.metblogs.com.

Rodney has been working on the story for nearly two months. I’m guessing that the timing of the story’s publication had to do with a) waiting for space on the front page to open up (after all, it’s a feature, not a breaking news story) and b) the iTunes 4.9 update that will put Podcasting subscription technology on millions of computers by the end of the year.

Oh, I know. And Rodney’s piece was far more in depth and researched than anything we’ve had here. It was a tongue in cheek comment. Just a friendly jab… that’s all.

Nice podcast coverage! Found a couple new ones in your list I haven’t seen before. We do a monthly-ish podcast here at the Decatur Campus Library of Ga Perimeter College. Not technically in “Atlanta” but just down the road. Our main podcast blog is on bspot but you can get to it here too: listenup.libsyn.com . Although libsyn has been pretty wonky lately.
