South City Kitchen

Had a great lunch at South City Kitchen this afternoon. I hadn’t been before, but the decor, people and food were fabulous. Disregarding my wife’s reccommendation to get the Fried Chicken, I ordered the Jambalaya and wasn’t disappointed.

The members of my party ordered pretty much every item on the menu: the chicken, shrimp & grits, catfish reuben, fried green tomatoes. You name it; we ate it.

I also have to mention that the Lemonade was very sweet. I’m usually a fan of tart lemonades – the kind with pulp and pucker – but this was a nice change. The perfect cool refreshment for such a hot day.

If the walk weren’t so long, I think I’d eat all my lunches in that Crescent Ave corridor. South City Kitchen, Front Page News, Vickery’s – all good.
