Cobb County Thinks Different

Ignoring any obvious jokes about warning stickers on textbooks, news out of Cobb County this morning is actually pretty cool. Apple Computer and the Cobb County School District announced a significant investment in computing technology for Cobb students.

Initially, they’ll be buying 17,000 iBooks for teachers throughout Cobb and students in four as-yet-unnamed high schools. I’d love for one to be my alma mater, Lassiter. I can still remember working as a teacher’s aide in an old Mac lab – spending my time cleaning mouse trackballs and getting gum out of floppy drives. Those were the days.

In any event, a big story for Apple and the Atlanta area.
