Atlanta Dogwood Festival

This weekend’s weather should clear up just in time for the 69th annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival, an Atlanta tradition providing an annual springtime celebration of arts and entertainment in Piedmont Park.

This year’s festival has a new ring to it – organizers partnered with the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences to bring a bigger array of award winning musicians to the stages, including acts like Shawn Mullins, Sugarland, Gaelle, and Martha Reeves. Two outdoor stages will feature more than 50 national, regional and local artists performing Blues, Jazz, Rock, Americana, acoustic and cultural music. In addition, the professionally juried arts festival was ranked by Sunshine Artist Magazine as in the “200 Best” shows in the nation.

Also back by popular demand are a Kid’s Village, a rock-climbing wall for all ages, sponsor booths, Visual Vibes tent for student artists and the Community Corner featuring several Atlanta area charity organizations. You’ll find me at the Southern Disc Dog Championship. And don’t forget to pick up your Dogwood seedlings!
