Got Gas?

It’s been awhile since I’ve been on… I’ve been busy driving around town, seeing the sites (or is it sights?), looking very chic and cool at Shout, Two Urban Licks and Fat Matt’s…(they know me by name there! I’ve even been to Charlotte a couple of times…(incidentally there is this FABULOUS martini bar called Therapy there…)

But I’m here to tell ya – that’s ALL OVER!!!!!.

Awhile back on my personal blog, I made a promise that I would ‘cease and desist’ any unnecessary travel IF ( and it was an IF back then, I couldn’t have fathomed it would actually happen) gas prices went past $1.99/gallon. Now, not only are they past a buck ninety nine, just yesterday price rose ten cents in just 30 minutes to $2.19/gallon.

I drive a VERY modest “early” model (read: OLDER) Honda. I spent $15 just yesterday putting in a mere half a tank of gas. That means that filling up my little sedan would cost almost the equivalent of monthly car insurance payment! That’s ridiculous, y’all!

Hmmph … I found this website which lists the cheapest and most expensive gas prices in the Metro. Hope it helps someone, it only further exasperates me.

I’m outta here, I’m hoofing it to QT and over to Kroger – Sage Hill … Hope the 15 mph winds don’t blow me over.

I hear ya. I’m back on MARTA starting tomorrow. I drive a 10 year old Civic, so my gas usage isn’t terrible.. but thank god I filled up the other day before the ten cent price increase.

I was so thrilled yesterday when I found the BP on the corner of Clairmont and N. Druid Hills had reg. gas for 2.09 (the shell half a block away was 2.26). That was even cheaper than the QT’s I’d seen. Maybe they just hadn’t figured out the price hike yet.
