Air Sir John

Elton John’s flamboyant profile just soared about 30,000 feet higher.

This week, the part-time Atlantan’s superstar-sized image begins appearing on 20 AirTran jets to promote the airline’s launch of satellite radio at each passenger seat.

I’m flying AirTran up to NYC this weekend, so hopefully I’ll have some satellite radio to listen to in case the person next to me is too talkative. As a Materials Science grad student my usual tactic in getting people to stop talking to me is to start talking about jet turbine engines and all the ways they can break down. Now I won’t have to scare people.

At last! They originally scheduled the satellite radio to roll out last summer. When you get back, tell us if it works.
