OTP-ers

From next week’s SundayPaper (it’s already at Octane. Yet another reason to appreciate this coffeeshop):

Let’s face it: Dismissing people and places as “outside the perimeter” is so 20th century. It’s condescending and short-sighted to look down on’es nose at those who happen to live on the other side of Interstate 285 (especially since they outnumber intown residents by a large margin).

Maybe. But you have to drive so far to leave the Perimeter. And they have lots of gangs up there (Sunday Paper story on this is not online yet). And it’s inside the perimeter that Park Bench is opening it’s new Midtown location tonight, featuring “house band” Francisco Vidal & the Village People Rejects. I was at the Buckhead location where this band played last night and they are a pretty good bar band – except for when they butchered a Dave Mathews song.
