Family Day

The Atlanta Opera is having it’s second annual Family Day today, October 2nd, 2004. Here’s the pertinent info:

Admission is just $5.00 per person at the door
Saturday, October 2, 2004
1:00 ñ 5:00 p.m. at The Atlanta Civic Center

I am planning on taking my youngest daughter and burgeoning diva, Maggie. Yes, she’s only 3, but trust me, she’s a diva.

There will be performances by The AOC – I believe some friends of mine, like bass Benjamin Polite are involved – an interactive costume shop, and something I find particularly cool, an ‘instrument petting zoo’, where kids can mess with a wide variety of instruments. The website says “play” the instruments, but we know they mean “mess with.”

If you want to read the info at the site yourself, go to the homepage and click on ‘Education+Family Programs’, then the link that says ‘Family Day.’

Hey, it’s only five bucks and a decent way to get your young ‘uns some culturification. Of course you could stay home with your nose buried in a bowl of Trix watching the Cartoon Network all day, but then you’d be just like – well, normally, me – but I was going to say everyone else.

Don’t be a sheep, yo. Come check out something unique and educational.
