So I attended my youngest sons’ Open House today at Dekalb County’s Briarvista Elementary School. Hopefully, you will remember my previous entry about my displeasure with the Dekalb County school system…I am NOT going to recant my statements, but for everything that I hated about Shamrock Middle …there are at least 3 things I absolutely adore about Briarvista …

1st of all, the school is Montessori …now, I’m going to admit something to you guys – just between us – I have no IDEA what Montessori is exactly …but the impression I get from the educator friends that I have (and judging from the enthusiasm of my fellow parents) I believe it must be pretty darn good … I’m going to do some research and get back to ya!

Second, my sons’ teacher is “psycho-passionate” (I’m coining that phrase) about the children and her responsibility as their first “non custodial” TEACHER. I’m excited about that … her lofty goal is to have all of her Pre-K and Kindergees reading by the beginning of the year…. I’ll keep you posted on that

Third, the HOTTIE music teacher … oh yeah!!!
Hey, I’m a single mom …he obviously loves kids right? He’s creative and is holding down full time employment… big frigging pluses in my book…

So I joined the PTA and volunteered to work on the Cultural Arts/Spring Concert committee … gotta give the man the opportunity .. but I digress … guess I will finish THIS thought on my personal blog …
